Kavya Padmanabhan received her B.A. from Wesleyan University, M.A. from Columbia University, M.Sc from the London School of Economics, and Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. Her research takes an interdisciplinary approach to interrogating marginalized women’s experiences with systems of punishment and welfare and explores the efficacy of gender-responsive, community-based models of care. Her work is based upon the principles of abolition feminism and is informed by intersectional and queer theory.
