Chen, Angelia - Headshot

Angelia Chen is a PhD student in sociology at Rice University. Her research interests center on the sociology of death and dying. In particular, she is interested in how people make sense of and navigate decisions at the end of life, how they experience and ascribe meaning to the loss of loved ones, and how emerging technologies reshape experiences and practices around death and dying. Her research draws primarily on mixed methods, combining qualitative analysis of interviews, media posts, and news articles with computational text analysis.
