Victor H. Delgado-Barrera

Victor Delgado is a Ph.D. student in the Economics Department at Rice University. Victor’s primary research interests are Development, Political Economy, and Applied Microeconomics as labor, earnings inequality, taxation, policy and program evaluation. His work at the Texas Policy Lab focuses on criminal justice.

Victor’s pre-doctoral research has centered on inequality, tax policy evaluation and social policy in Mexico. Victor’s early research projects at Rice include the use of administrative tax records to evaluate the impact of tax policies on firms’ investment behavior in Mexico. Prior to coming to Rice, Victor worked as research fellow at El Colegio de México and Centro de Estudios Espinoza Yglesias. Victor also served as an Economist at Mexico’s Ministry of Finance and Public Credit in the Tax Policy and Productivity teams, as well as in the Minister’s Office. Victor has a M.Sc. in Economics from El Colegio de México and a B.A. in Economics from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey.
