V.A. Lundquist is a PhD student in the English department at Rice University, studying literature from and of North Korea. Having earned a B.A. in English at the University of Texas at Austin, taught English abroad, and completed an M.A. at York University in Toronto, V now works on North Korean prisoners’ memoirs and poems, Marxist literary criticism, North Korea as depicted in the American imagination, and representations of the Korean War and North Korea within post-division texts.
