Taofeekat Lamina is a Mechanical Engineering student at Rice University with a minor in Engineering Design and a certificate in Engineering Leadership. She is passionate about human-centered design and creating solutions that improve everyday experiences.
On campus, Taofeekat serves as President of the Rice African Student Association (RASA), where she oversees cultural programming and signature events like Taste of Africa and Africaye. She is also Social Media Chair of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), working to increase engagement and awareness of opportunities for Black student success in STEM fields. In addition, she serves as Program Coordinator for the Activate Engineering Communication Program, where she helps engineering students strengthen their professional communication skills. She also leads the Outreach Team for the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL), expanding awareness and participation in RCEL initiatives.
Through these leadership roles, Taofeekat has developed a strong foundation in collaboration, project management, and community engagement, which she hopes to carry into her career in engineering and design.
