Sowmya Viswanathan is a sophomore from Martel College majoring in Social Policy Analysis and Economics and pursuing a certificate in Spanish. She is passionate about civil rights, period poverty, and labor policy. Currently, she is working on civic engagement research with Professor Marschall and serves as Martel’s Civic Rep on the SA Democratic Engagement subcommittee. As a class representative on the SOPA advisory committee, Sowmya is passionate about getting feedback from other SOPA majors and improving the major to better fit the needs of students.
