Sarah Reynolds

Sarah Reynolds received her Ph.D. in anthropology from Tulane University. Her work examines the intersection of religion, race, and identity within Vodun in Benin. Her dissertation analyzes how Vodun practitioners and the Beninese state are working to re-represent Vodun within national and global discourses. She utilizes the concepts of blackness and anti-blackness to investigate issues of religious representation within Vodun as well as African and Afro-diasporic religions more widely.
