I’m Rummanur Rahad, a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University. I’m part of the Photonics Team at the Rice WIDE Lab, working under the guidance of Professor Yuji Zhao. My research focuses on developing advanced integrated photonic devices using wide bandgap semiconductors. I specialize in optical modeling, simulation, and nanofabrication of photonic structures, aiming to push the boundaries of what’s possible in optoelectronic and photonic systems.

I completed my B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh, in 2023. During my undergrad, I explored plasmonic biosensors and metamaterials, which sparked my passion for photonics and its vast potential. I'm excited to continue this journey, tackling real-world challenges through innovative photonic technologies.
