Myriam Oliver - Ph.D. Student

Myriam Oliver graduated from Virginia Tech in 2022 where she majored in Psychology and minored in Statistics. She is currently a graduate student in the Human-Computer Interaction & Human Factors (HCIHF) PhD program where she works in the Perception and Action Lab under Dr. Patricia DeLucia. Myriam's research interests are primarily concerned with transportation human factors. More specifically, she is interested in the perception of collision in traffic environments and the causal factors that lead people to misjudge that a collision is imminent (e.g. perceptual limitations, cognitive load, etc.). She is also interested in the information drivers use when making decisions such as when it is safe to turn or when to start braking as they approach a stopped or slow-moving lead vehicle.
