Moses Awinsong is a doctoral student in Rice University's history department. He researches modern African history, carceral institutions and processes, U.S-Africa diplomacy, and the history of education. 

Aside his scholarly interests, Moses is a trained educationist licensed in Newfoundland, Canada, and Ghana. He has 6 years teaching experience in indigenous contexts in northern Canada, and professional development leadership expertise.
