Melissa Hurtado Nuez - Ph.D. Student

Melissa Hurtado Nuez (she/her) is a doctoral student and graduate research assistant in the Department of Sociology at Rice University. Melissa is a 2024 BRIDGS Emergent Scholar Fellow and a Trainee with the Firearm Injury and Policy Research Program. Her research interests include gun culture, immigration, and health. She is originally from Havana, Cuba.
