Lucas is from Dallas, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2020 with a degree in physics. He graduated from the Tour lab in 2025. In his thesis, titled "Flash Joule Heating for Materials Production," he presented the development of productions for a wide range of materials utilizing flash Joule heating reactions utilizing target feedstock as a heating medium, which enabled extremely fast and efficient production of materials including graphene, carbon nanotubes, silicon carbide, and p-block metal dichalcogenides.
Since graduation, Lucas has been a technology development manager for Flash Metals USA.
