Linyan Zheng is a PhD student in the Department of Religion at Rice University. She is interested in the intersection of literature and religion, especially William Blake’s visionary poems and paintings, Maurice Maeterlinck’s Gnostic dramas, Edgar Allan Poe’s apocalyptic-cyclic cosmology, and H.D.’s mystical experiences & poems. She is also fascinated by medical humanities, especially writing therapy. Her current research focuses on the therapeutic effects of H.D.’s resurrection myth and Edgar Allan Poe’s unique cosmology.
