Liliana N. López is a graduate student specializing in intellectual and cultural production in medieval Castile, and is especially interested in how these intersect with non-Christian identities and conversion. Her research explores the transmission of knowledge, artistic expression, and religious discourse. She examines how medieval Castilians shaped their culture not only through translation, textual adaptation, and visual representation, but also through resistance and rejection. Through her work, she seeks to illuminate the complexities of identity, belief, and power in medieval Iberia. Liliana's senior thesis at the University of the Pacific explored the portrayal of non-Christians in the Cantigas de Santa María, a collection of 13th century lyrical poetry.
