Leah Binkovitz is a graduate student in the sociology department. She is also a Pulitzer-prize winning senior editorial writer with the Houston Chronicle editorial board. She has worked as the senior editor for Rice University's Kinder Institute for Urban Research, covered Fort Bend County for the Houston Chronicle, and been a journalism fellow in Washington, D.C., where she reported for the Washington Post and NPR. Binkovitz earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
