Ken William Ssennyimba received his B.S. degree in Physics and Education from the Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda in 2018. He pursued a postgraduate diploma in theoretical condensed matter physics at the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics in Italy and upon graduation, he joined the University of Houston (UH) where he obtained a Master of Science in Physics in 2022. During his time at UH, he worked on the development of fast in-situ characterization techniques for irradiated nuclear materials under the supervision of Prof. Di Chen and later, he worked on the application of cerium-based devices for neuromorphic computing under the supervision of Dr. Aiping Chen at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Recently, Ken started his PhD in Applied Physics where he joined the Natelson research group, and his current research interest is related to; light emission in nanoscale plasmonic structures, device fabrication, and optical and electrical characterization.
