Kelly Neubauer

Kelly is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Physics & Astronomy. Her research is in experimental condensed matter physics, focusing on the interplay of topological electronic behavior and spiral magnetism in materials. Studying materials with novel magnetic and electronic properties has exciting applications in energy and technology. In addition to her research, Kelly is enthusiastic about effective and inclusive teaching in STEM. Her teaching goals include making physics more exciting and accessible for all students and showing students that they can use physics in whatever career they pursue.

She has been involved in the Center for Teaching Excellence throughout her graduate studies, served as a teaching assistant for introductory level physics courses, and tutors students in AP and MCAT physics. Outside of academics, Kelly enjoys spending time with her dog, running and hiking, and classical music
