Kathleen Ortiz (she/her) is a sophomore from Lovett College majoring in Social Policy Analysis and Sociology. She is passionate about education policy, housing and civic engagement. Outside of classes, Kathleen is on the Rice women’s club soccer team and serves as their treasurer. Previously she has done work related to healthcare with Senator Carol Alvarado and she has done civic engagement work at Recovering the US Hispanic Literary Heritage. As a sophomore class Social Policy Analysis representative, she is excited to work with her peers to improve the major and the students’ understanding of it.
