Joshua Fang is a junior from Hanszen College studying Social Policy Analysis with a minor in Data Science. Their policy interests primarily lie in American social safety net programs in the context of income support. Outside of classes, Josh is heavily involved in youth civic engagement promotion efforts at Rice and in Houston because they see research and advocacy as two sides of the same coin driving policy change. As a Class of 2024 representative on the SOPA Advisory Committee, Josh is eager to equip the SOPA major with resources and opportunities necessary to prepare students to succeed in policy careers.
