Professor April DeConick

J.D. Reiner is a Ph.D. candidate in the religion department Rice University. In his research, he focuses on the Apocryphal New Testament, particularly the Apocryphal Acts of the Apostles. In his dissertation, J.D. explores the origins of chapters 94–96 of the Acts of John, which contain a version of the Last Supper story which differs significantly from those of the Synoptics and John. More specifically, his project aims to investigate the claim of the text to reveal the words of the hymn sung by Christ and the Apostles after their final meal before the Crucifixion.
