Ethan is a PhD candidate in the Department of Mathematics. His research is in mathematical physics—more specifically, the spectral theory of Schrödinger and Dirac operators. He has served as instructor of record at Rice teaching linear algebra and ordinary differential equations and served as teaching assistant in several other courses in the math department. He is interested in how diverse methods of assessment might make assessment more equitable and the role assessment plays in shaping students’ perception of a course.
