Erika Mei Chua Holum is a curator and art historian from Houston, Texas. From 2022-2025, she was the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Associate Curator at the Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston. Erika was the co-curator of the thirteenth (and final) Texas Biennial in 2024, entitled, 'The Last Sky,' taken from a line of Mahmoud Darwish's poem, The Earth is Closing On Us. Recent exhibitions include the multi-site exhibition Makeshift Memorials, Small Revolutions with KADIST San Francisco (2024), and solo exhibitions with Cian Dayrit (2024), Saif Azzuz (2025), and Thania Petersen (2026). In 2023-24, she organized Ecofictions and Understories, a city-responsive curatorial program in Houston to speculate potential worlds for gathering and resistance with the exhibition 'Climate Migration' with the Houston Climate Museum. Erika also convenes the Sahara Dust Season, a residency program and artist collective collaborating with the temporary and migratory region created by Saharan dust clouds.
