David Sánchez is a graduate student in the Ph.D. Program in History at Rice University. He is interested in modern Latin American history, environmental history, and the history of energy, with a particular focus on how infrastructures have shaped social and environmental transformations across the region. Before joining Rice, he taught courses in environmental history, Colombian and Latin American history at the University of Tolima and worked at Colombia’s General Archive of the Nation, where he contributed to the preservation and analysis of historical fonds.
