He grew up in a nomadic setting on the Tibetan plateaus, deeply nurtured by the rich tapestry of Tibetan indigenous cultures from an early age. He has trained in Buddhist philosophical systems, encompassing both ancient and modern Tibetan literature, astrology, and geomancy at the Lutsang and Labrang Monasteries in Northeastern Tibet. He holds a BA in Chinese ethics studies from Northwestern Minzu University (2018) and has earned an MA in Religious Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder (2023), focusing on the challenges and innovations faced by Tibetan religious communities in the contemporary era. Currently, at Rice University, he is pursuing a PhD that explores Himalayan ecosystems within the Tibetan Buddhist context, Buddhist philosophy and ethics in practice, and the intersections of Buddhism with environmental humanities and cultural studies of science.
