Dr. Xia received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and received his Ph.D. from Rice University. His research focuses on catalyst design and novel reactor development for key electrocatalysis processes, including oxygen reduction, oxygen evolution, and hydrogen evolution. Those fundamental reactions play critical roles in practical applications, ranging from chemical production, water treatment, and carbon utilization. Dr. Xia is working with Professor Haotian Wang to design novel electrochemical reactors for advanced chemical engineering, such as hydrogen peroxide production and carbon capture, etc.
