Xotchil Martinez

Currently serving as Center Administrator, Xotchil oversees the daily operations of the Humanities Research Center. As the Center Administrator, she manages program and research administration, financial management, human resources, compliance, communications and outreach, as well as the overall office operations.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Literature from the University of Houston and a Master's in English from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, where she focused her studies on Science Fiction cinema. Previously, she worked as an Administrative and Project Coordinator at Berklee College of Music’s Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. There, she supported DEI initiatives and helped develop programming, workshops, and resources that supported faculty, staff, and students.

Prior to Boston, Xotchil was an English teaching assistant in Milan, Italy, through the SITE Program, where she supported language learning in a secondary and primary school. During her time there, she collaborated with staff to develop engaging curricula and provided support to students by helping them improve their language skills in both written and spoken English.

Outside of her professional life, Xotchil enjoys watching films, keeping up to date with astrology, and spending quality time with her family.
