Dr. Welman Curi Elias obtained his chemistry degree in 2010, followed by a Master's degree in Chemistry in 2012, and ultimately, a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2017, all from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He served as a postdoctoral fellow at UFSC for two years and later continued as a postdoctoral researcher at Rice University for five years, focusing on the design and development of innovative catalysts in both homogeneous and heterogeneous materials. His research covered a broad spectrum of catalytic systems, yielding substantial contributions to various fields of catalysis. Presently, he holds the position of Research Scientist in Prof. Michael Wong's research group, where he is dedicated to design novel catalytic materials for sustainable chemical production and environmental remediation.
