As the Pre-Award Specialist for IRSO, Valerie manages all phases of proposal development and pre-award research administration, as well as post award administration, for faculty and staff within IRSO centers. Valerie joined Rice in 2018 as a Research Administrator II in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and she joined IRSO in December, 2021. Previously, Valerie held positions at the Baylor College of Medicine in the Departments of Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, and Virology/Microbiology. Valerie received her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and DMA degrees in Oboe Performance. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her dog and working on her art.
