Tacara McKinney-Baisden is the Manager of Risk Management and Insurance at Rice University, where she oversees risk and insurance programs and strategies to protect institutional assets. She brings over 15 years of combined insurance and risk management experience, with the majority of her background in the corporate sector. Tacara has also held risk management positions in higher education at Louisiana State University and the University of Oklahoma. Her work focuses on effective risk transfer to safeguard institutional assets and support the university’s mission. She earned her MBA from Southern Nazarene University and a BBA from Langston University, and she is pursuing the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
