Dr. Sujitkumar Bontapalle earned his Master’s and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), India. Part of the doctoral research he conducted with Prof. Norbert Koch at Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. His doctoral thesis was focused on electronically conducting Polymers with extended understanding towards ageing and interface electron transport. After his Ph.D. in 2020, he worked as Post-doctoral Research Associate in Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), South Korea until Nov 2022. In UNIST, he designed stretchable organic electrochemical transistors (OECT) and demonstrated its application in human-machine interface by recording electrocardiograms. Currently, Dr. Bontapalle is working with Professor Verduzco (Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Rice University) continuing his research in the field of bioelectronic sensors to monitor microbial activities.
