Steven Gubka works on the philosophy of emotions, as well as the ethics and epistemology of technology. In his latest research project, Dr. Gubka is investigating questions related to emotional outsourcing, such as: How would widespread use of AI for emotional labor affect digital communication? Does emotional outsourcing threaten the development of our moral character? In what ways does the (mis)use of emotion recognition technology contribute to injustice? Dr. Gubka is also interested in aesthetics, the philosophy of games, and philosophy in popular culture.
