Sharon Scoppa

Sharon Scoppa joined Rice in 2003 as a telecommunications analyst, after which time she was promoted to various financial and administrative roles on campus. She has held roles in Information Technology, the Budget Office, Development and Alumni Relations and the Ion.

In February 2024, Sharon joined the Provost Office as director of academic finance. She is instrumental in providing training and academic support for the new incentive-based budget model, working collaboratively with the schools while managing the flow of resources between the schools and the Office of the Provost. She develops reports and models to manage financial data in support of the strategic direction of the university.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Sul Ross State University and completed all coursework toward a graduate degree in biology. Sharon was the recipient of Board of Trustees recognition in 2011 for her work assisting Mia Culton with the Hyperion Planning Solution.
