Prerna Khanna is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University, working on wearable sensing for health and accessibility. Her research at the Yamagami Lab focuses on transitioning from digital tools for accessibility to digital health technologies. She completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at Stony Brook University, advised by Prof. Aruna Balasubramanian, where she built alternate smartphone interaction techniques for blind users. Her work has appeared at ACM MobiCom, CHI, ASSETS, SenSys, and IMWUT. She has held research intern positions at Meta Reality Labs and Nokia Bell Labs during her PhD. She is a recipient of the Catacosinos Fellowship, the CPS Rising Star Award, and the Marconi Society's Paul Baran Young Scholar's Celestini Prize.
