Pothik Chatterjee serves as the Executive Director of the Houston Methodist-Rice Digital Health Institute (HMRDHI), where he plays a pivotal role in advancing the institute’s mission to revolutionize health care through cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary collaboration. In this capacity, he guides the strategic growth of the institute, ensuring its vision remains deeply aligned with the broader institutional goals of Rice University and Houston Methodist in the realms of digital health, precision medicine, and data science.
Pothik leads the translational activities of the DHI, fostering industry partnerships and corporate development. Under his leadership, the Digital Health Institute aims to serve as a global model for the transformative potential of combining medicine and engineering to shape the future of healthcare.
Prior to joining Rice, Pothik cultivated a rich career at the intersection of innovation, research, and economic development. His extensive experience includes Brigham Innovation Hub in Boston, contributing to the advancement of clinical and digital innovation, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, serving as Head of Innovation & Research, and Chief Economic Officer of Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) where he helped drive regional economic strategy.
Pothik holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MA from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a BS from Georgetown University.
In his free time, Pothik is an avid painter and a dedicated practitioner of yoga.
