Nyeva Pommier

Nyeva has worked in education since 2003, holding positions in strategic planning, project management, admissions, diversity outreach, advocacy and student programming. Through her experiences working with diverse populations, Nyeva learned the value of working side by side with students, faculty and staff in order to achieve academic and administrative goals.

Nyeva grew up in Tacoma, Washington and after years of longing for sunny skies moved to Houston to work at Rice in 2012. She currently functions as Dean Canning’s Chief of Staff, managing staff teams, overseeing complex administrative projects, liaising with Development and Alumni Relations, and providing support to the dean and executive team. She also works closely with the Associate Dean to execute admissions and undergraduate programming initiatives.

Nyeva earned her Bachelor's in Business Administration from Washington State University and her Master's in Public Administration from The Evergreen State College.
