Nyeva has worked in education since 2003, holding positions in admissions, advising, multicultural outreach, advocacy and student programming. Through her experiences working with diverse populations, Nyeva learned the value of working side by side with students in order to help them succeed. Her passion is to help others find theirs, and she enjoys providing students with opportunities to explore their interests.

Nyeva grew up in Tacoma, Washington and after years of longing for sunny skies moved to Houston to work in the Rice School of Architecture in 2012. While there she worked with prospective and current archis, and eventually crossed the quad in 2015 to join the School of Humanities as the Manager of Student Programs. She currently oversees the HEDGE Program (internships, alumni connections, and research opportunities), and aims to help undergraduates discover the full potential of a humanities degree. She also works closely with staff and faculty to help streamline administrative processes within the humanities graduate programs.

Nyeva earned her Bachelor's in Business Administration from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) and her Master's in Public Administration from The Evergreen State College (Go Geoducks!). Please contact her if you have questions about student opportunities or would like to know more about earning a degree in the humanities.
