Nancy Gealow joined Rice University in 2022. In her current role as Program Administrator for the Rice Office of STEM Engagement (R-STEM). She manages outreach, continuing education programs and summer learning programs at Rice that focus on building skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) for PK-12 and beyond. She also manages the outreach activities to further the impact of Rice University.
Prior to joining R-STEM, she was a public educator for 35 years teaching in bilingual, ESL and science in the elementary grades. She focused mainly on science and STEM in the past 20 years writing many STEM grants and implementing many clubs and STEM experiences for her students. In 2016, she became involved in the STEMLETICS summer program at Rice and has written curriculum and instructed for the program to date. She has done extensive professional development with NASA and taught Space Day each year for the entire school. Her belief in science, technology and engineering education is a major passion.
Gealow holds a M.ED in education from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, Tx with a specialization in English as a Second Language and Bilingual education. Her BA degree is from the University of Northern Iowa in education with a minor in Spanish. Nancy enjoys traveling and sports (Astros) and volunteers as president of the Houston Iowa Club Alumni and Friends.
