Murad’s primary responsibilities at the Budget Office include fiscal analysis, budget reporting, and business analytics. In his role, he will provide support to the Budget Office and Finance and Administration leadership on planning and long-range budget models, BTI allocation mechanisms, and other strategic projects to enable data-informed decision-making.

Prior to joining Rice University, Murad held various positions at the University of Chicago. He worked in the Budget Office, managing budget systems and supporting budget operations. Most recently, he served as Director of Financial Compliance in UChicago's Office of National Laboratories, supporting the university's relationship with Argonne National Laboratory and Fermilab. 

Murad holds a Master of Business Administration from Duke University, where he focused on financial analysis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
