Kristi Parker

Ms. English brings over 15 years of experience in research administration and financial management to her role as Executive Director of the Institute for Health Resilience & Innovation. In this role, she oversees the institute’s daily operations, strategic planning, and resource management, ensuring its long-term sustainability and success. Ms. English is responsible for managing the institute’s budget and financial activities, including planning, monitoring expenditures, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with university and funding agency regulations. Her extensive experience with NIH-funded projects enables her to guide the institute’s pre-award and post-award processes, ensuring smooth grant submission and reporting.

Ms. English works closely with the leadership team to allocate resources effectively and support key initiatives such as pilot projects, training programs, and infrastructure development. She plays a critical role in building collaborations across Rice University and with external partners, including the Texas Medical Center, fostering strong relationships that advance the institute’s mission. In addition to managing daily operations, she leads program evaluation efforts, develops performance metrics, and prepares reports for stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Her expertise in operational management, compliance, and resource optimization has been instrumental in creating an efficient, collaborative environment that empowers faculty, trainees, and community partners to thrive.
