My research focuses on deciphering the design principles of gene regulatory networks (GRNs) controlling cell-fate decisions, particularly Epithelial Mesenchymal Plasticity (EMP) in metastasis. By simulating these networks, we investigate how structural elements like feedback loops and cohesive teams influence the stability of Epithelial, Mesenchymal, and Hybrid phenotypes. Our findings suggest that these design principles extend to diverse networks governing cell-fate decisions in disease and development. Currently, we are exploring how EMP affects and is influenced by cellular properties such as the cell cycle, stemness, and metabolic states.
