Kirra Phillips is a post-baccalaureate fellow at the Rice University Medical Humanities Research Institute. Her work includes supporting research through humanities-based methods, project management, collaboration with external stakeholders, and drafting and editing published materials for the institute.

Kirra received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology from Rice University in 2026, with a minor in Medical Humanities and a certificate in Spanish Language. She is interested in how humanities-based endeavors, such as art and storytelling, can enhance caregiving by enriching the experiences of both providers and patients. 

Her research background includes contributions to the Analysis of Curricula on Spirituality and Health in Medical Education project, in collaboration with the Institute for Spirituality and Health, as well as an independent project titled Exploring Reproductive Healthcare Experiences Through Art. Prior to joining the Medical Humanities Research Institute, she served as the Head Gallery Guide at the Moody Center for the Arts.
