Kimberly Lewis is a Doctor of Education Leadership candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). She is a certified English Language Arts, Reading, and English as a Second Language teacher, with 15 years of experience in both private and public schools in the United States and abroad.
Kimberly is passionate about fostering engaged communities and is dedicated to creating opportunities for young people to express themselves openly and confidently. A committed scholar and self-proclaimed hiphop enthusiast, she believes in the transformative power of research and research-based practices.
Her doctoral work centers on integrating hiphop into high school classrooms to engage students, educators, families, and the broader community. Drawing from her own educationally transformative experiences with the genre, Kimberly aims to inspire others and foster positive change—one rhyme at a time—through collaboration and creative expression.
