Kerby Goff investigates the cultural causes and consequences of social conflict and change in primary social institutions—religion, the state, education, and work. His work sheds light on how people navigate difference and negotiate solidarity in pluralistic contexts, and has been published in Sociology of Education, Socius, Criminology, and Sociology of Religion. Kerby has written on the 2020 racial justice protests for The Monkey Cage blog at The Washington Post. He earned a PhD in sociology from Penn State University and has a degrees in intercultural religious studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University
