Kaz Karwowski has been the Executive Director of the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership since 2013, and has been developing leaders on college campuses since 2006.  Kaz has a deep interest in the leadership development of young people and feels that leadership and entrepreneurship go hand-in-hand and has been involved in the development of both at Rice. He believes that leadership is best learned by doing and encourages experiential education. Prior to his career in academia, Kaz spent 20 years in the U.S. Army and retired in 2009.
