Katie Wang

Katie Wang is the assistant director of community engagement at Rice University's Kinder Institute for Urban Research. She is responsible for managing the Community Bridges program and facilitating the Houston Community Data Connections (HCDC) program via community outreach efforts, relationship building with clients and partner organizations and monitoring of research and data service requests. Prior to joining the Kinder Institute, Katie researched performing arts organizations as part of the Building Audiences for Sustainability initiative based at the University of Texas. Before that, she worked at Texas Impact, a statewide religious grassroots network, as an associate policy analyst. Katie earned her master's degree in Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas as well as bachelor’s degrees in Latin American Studies and Plan II Honors from the University of Texas.
