Kathleen's primary responsibility is to oversee the development and monitoring of the university's annual operating budget, capital budget, and fiscal analysis. In this role, she will work closely with Katrina Spencer, Sr. Vice President for Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer, to develop multi-year financial planning that aligns with the university's strategic plan. She will be a key resource for financial modeling and business analytics to support data-informed decision-making and planning efforts. 

Prior to joining Rice University, Kathleen held budget, strategic planning, and academic administration roles at the University of Chicago, most recently serving as the Executive Director of Budget Operations. She holds a Bachelor's degree with double majors in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Economics from Northwestern University.
