Jun Hyung earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), South Korea, in February 2026, under the supervision of Dr. Youngki Kim. His expertise lies in liquid crystal-templating methods to control nanocrystal nucleation and growth, as well as designing reconfigurable nanophotonic structures. He joined as a postdoctoral fellow at the Rice Advanced Materials Institute (RAMI), working with Dr. Rafael Verduzco and Dr. Menachem Elimelech. His current research focuses on the controlled growth of membrane materials, especially covalent organic frameworks using liquid crystalline soft templates.
