Josh Hurt is a Talent & Performance Specialist and Human Resource Business Partner. In his role, Josh is tasked with developing and implementing a talent development strategy at Rice University.
He comes to Rice after serving for 26 years in the United States Air Force. In his last position in the Air Force Josh served as the Chief of Enlisted Force Development at the Pentagon, Washington DC. While there, he led the development of the Air Force 2030 developmental strategy. The strategy laid the path for the future development of 405,000 Airmen.
Josh is a certified Senior Certified Professional, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP); Resilience Building Leader Program-Trainer (RBLP-T); Master Coach (Next Jump). He is most passionate about leadership development (from frontline to senior leaders), strategy, and employee engagement.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University. Throughout his tenure in the Air Force, he completed several courses including Strategic Mindset Seminar (Flatter Inc); Leading Strategically (Center for Creative Leadership); Leadership Academy (Next Jump); DISC Instructor Course (AFSNCOA); Team Dimensions Instructor Course (AFSNCOA); Professional Military Education Instructor Course (EPMEIC).
