Jo Alanís is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Office of Access and Institutional Excellence at Rice University. She received her Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University and B.A in Psychology from the University of Houston. She previously held an appointment in the Leadership Institute at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Her research focuses on identifying and addressing the emerging needs of the modern workforce, with an emphasis on changing workforce demographics, worker responses to stressful events and conditions, and technology mediated approaches to fostering belonging and well-being. She has received numerous awards and grants for her work, and was a recipient of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship in 2021.
