Jessica has over ten years of experience in elementary and middle school science education, serving as a classroom teacher and curriculum specialist in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD (CFISD). Her work in the classroom was recognized with several honors, including Teacher of the Year (2019), the AMP! Innovation Award (2021), and the Texas Medical Association Ernest and Sarah Butler Award for Excellence in Science Teaching (2022).
As the Assistant Director for Educational Leadership and STEM Initiatives at R-STEM, Jessica leads the design and facilitation of inquiry-based professional learning experiences for K–12 math & science educators and students across Houston and surrounding areas. She directs and oversees multiple R-STEM programs, including the ConocoPhillips Rice Elementary Model STEM Lab (REMSL), the ConocoPhillips Applied Mathematics Program (AMP!), and the REMSL & AMP! Catalyst Program. Her work centers on strengthening science instruction, cultivating teacher leadership, and ensuring high-quality, student-centered STEM learning experiences.
