Robicheaux

Jessica has accumulated over eight years of teaching experience, specializing in elementary science. Prior to joining the Rice Office of STEM Engagement (R-STEM) team, Jessica served six years as a 5th grade science teacher and two years as an elementary science curriculum coach and specialist in CFISD. During her time in the classroom she was honored with various awards including the CFISD Teacher of the Year (2019-2020), AMP! Innovation Award (2021), and the Texas Medical Association Ernest and Sarah Butler Award for Excellence in Science Teaching (2022). 

 

As the Assistant Director for Educational Leadership and STEM Initiatives for R-STEM, Jessica provides professional development for science educators in Houston and surrounding areas looking to grow in science content and pedagogy. She works directly with the ConocoPhilips Rice Elementary Model STEM Lab (REMSL) program, ConocoPhilips Applied Mathematics Program (AMP!), and the AMP! Catalyst Program where her commitment lies in ensuring optimal learning experiences for the teachers she engages with. In addition, Jessica was a former participant in multiple R-STEM programs including the REMSL, REMSL Catalyst, AMP!5, and the Nanotechnology Research Experience for Teachers (RET).
